4 Norwich Free Academy Hoopsters To Sign Letters Of Intent

The senior student-athletes will be part of a signing ceremony on May 7.

From NFA: NFA Athletics will hold a National Letter of Intent Signing for senior student-athletes, 3 p.m., May 7, 2018, on the mezzanine in the Atrium on campus. Alec Gomes (Guard #11), who attend UCONN Avery Point. Gomes was the ECC Sportsmanship award winner this year. He never missed a start in his junior and senior years. Gomes also competes in track and field.

Aidan Miller (Guard #14) will extend his basketball career at Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, in the fall. Miller finished his NFA career with numerous awards: He was all- conference in the Eastern Connecticut Conference, was named to the Connecticut High School Coaches Association senior All-Star baseball game, and was named as a 2018 CAS-CIAC Scholar Athlete. He finished 24 th on NFA’s all-time scoring list with 715
points.

Maloyid Perkins (Guard #2), will attend UCONN Avery Point. Perkins is a two-sport student-athlete, competing in basketball and volleyball. This season he led the basketball team with 14 charges taken.
Brenden Sholes (Guard #0) will also attend UCONN Avery Point in the fall. Sholes was a varsity letter winner for the past four years in the basketball program. He also competes in track and field. NFA Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Chris Guisti says, “these four student-athletes epitomize selflessness and are exemplary role models for our community. In an age where many look for opportunities to celebrate themselves as individuals, these young men care only about supporting each other and representing our school in a positive
manner. They have a wealth of basketball experience from many big game environments, and will bring a humble work ethic to their college teams next season.”
