After Years, Pet Dog Reunited With Connecticut Family: Report

The beloved dog had been missing for half a decade.

NORWICH, CT — Missing for five years, a dachshund named Lady is finally back home with her Brooklyn, CT owners, thanks to Norwich Animal Control, reports the Norwich Bulletin.

The 17-year-old dog, owned by the Riendeau family, was found last week in Mohegan Park by Assistant Animal Control Officer Donna Gremminger. A scan of the dog's embedded identity microchip led to the discovery of whose dog she is.

Lady was purchased by the family during a trip to Arizona in 2001, and had gone missing in 2013. The family wasn't sure if she had simply wandered off or was killed by wolves in the wooded area near their home, according to the publication.
