Connecticut Bankers Association Honors Two Chelsea Groton Vice Presidents
Barbara Curto and Kristin Zummo have been selected as "New Leaders In Banking."

GROTON, Conn. – Barbara Curto, VP, Marketing Manager, and Kristin Zummo, VP, Learning and Development Manager, were recently selected as New Leaders in Banking by the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA). This honor was presented to just 14 out of dozens of nominees from banks across Connecticut. The recipients are considered to be outstanding employees, managers, or business leaders that make a notable impact within their bank and community.

Barb joined Chelsea Groton in 2015, after spending six years at a marketing communications agency in Philadelphia. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Maryland and earned a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication from Villanova University. Barb graduated from the CT School of Finance and Management in 2019 and completed ABA Bank Marketing School in 2021. She was a recipient of Banking New England’s 2019 Women of Fire Award. Barb and her family live in Mystic, CT.

Kristin joined Chelsea Groton in January 2018 after several years at Electric Boat, where she spearheaded Training and Employee Development. Kristin has a Bachelor of Arts from Messiah University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Mansfield University. She is a certified DiSC Assessment Facilitator and has earned the Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. Kristin was a recipient of the Chelsea Award in 2019, which is an award presented to a Chelsea Groton employee in recognition for exceptional performance in the areas of sales, initiative, customer service, or a combination of these areas. Kristin and her family reside in East Lyme, CT.
Barb and Kristin were carefully selected through an independent panel of judges to honor their excellence in the banking community. The recipients of this award were celebrated with a New Leaders Awards Ceremony and Dinner at the Mohegan Sun Resort on the eve of Northeast’s Premier BankWorld® conference.
