Cullers began painting in earnest after serving in Iraq and credits painting with saving his life after his brother was killed while serving in Afghanistan. “The idea for my work has been an ongoing theme. The only really good thing that came from my brother being killed was that I had painting at the time to express how I felt. It's been years in the making with different themes running through my work. Each work … holds certain emotions and conveys them through the imagery.”
The Gallery at Three Rivers is located on the second floor above the main entrance. It is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Castles Made of Sand” will run through Friday, December 2.
