According to the arrest warrant application filed with the Superior Court by CSP Detective Trisha Henderson, Hasselbacher ’s former girlfriend, who has a restraining order against him had a male friend visiting her in Bozrah.

While the two were sitting in a car outside a house, Hasselbacher pulled up in a Subaru, went to the car and began screaming at the woman and her companion. He then pulled open the car door and slashed the man with a knife as the former girlfriend ran into the house.

Hasselbacher then took off.

Neighbors, or perhaps residents, they are not named, told police that the victim had his “wrist sliced open.” That person tied a rope around his forearm to stop the bleeding and then poured hydrogen peroxide on the cut to keep it clean. Another witness then wrapped up his arm with a towel and the former girlfriend drove him to the hospital.

He will need surgery, police were told.

Meanwhile, Hasselbacher had fled but the warrant reads, he sent Facebook messages to one of the witnesses.

Police said Hasselbacher wrote, "I completely ruined his life, it was not the first time (the victim) has called the cops on me, he was gushing blood I’m done for, I can't believe I did that. I still don't really feel like it's real, and he'll probably never be able to use that hand again."

Hasselbacher drove to New York City and the New York Police Department located him in his 2012 green Subaru Outback at 55th Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan.

The state police Major Crime Squad-Troop K Colchester made extradition from New England and New York part of the arrest warrant.
