Man Tells Police He Killed Wife; Says She Was Voodoo Priestess: Norwich Police
Norwich Police said Patrick Antoine turned himself in and confessed to allegedly stabbing his wife and setting fire to the apartment.
A Thursday, June 2, fire at 283 Franklin St. in Norwich claimed the life of Norwich resident Margarette Mardi, 37 years of age and eight months pregnant.
A criminal investigation ensued and has revealed that Mardi’s husband, 39-year-old Patrick Antoine, allegedly stabbed Mardi to death and set fire to the apartment.
According to NBC Connecticut, the husband and wife had gotten into a verbal disagreement the morning of June 2.

Antoine reportedly told police officers he believed his wife had been casting spells on him and that she was a voodoo priestess.
According to police, Antoine allegedly stabbed Mardi with a steak knife and then lit several curtains with a lighter. Police said he presented himself to Norwich Police just prior to 11 a.m. Thursday and confessed to the crime.
