TVCCA Announces Changes In Its Senior Leadership Team
Marylou Underwood is retiring after serving 21 years as Chief Operations Officer for the Thames Valley Council for Community Action.

NORWICH, CT – Marylou Underwood is retiring after serving 21 years as Chief Operations Officer and being a member of the TVCCA Team for more than three (3) decades. Under Ms. Underwood’s tenure TVCCA has centralized the Nutrition Program into a single Commissary; expanded the Senior Nutrition program from New London County to include the Northeast/ Windham region; spearheaded the agency’s COVID response which included pivoting programs from in-person access to remote access and partnerships to ensure equity in vaccine distribution.

“I have enjoyed being able to serve the community and most of all working with the wonderful team,” stated Underwood.
Megan Brown will serve as COO beginning July 1, 2021. Ms. Brown currently serves as Senior Director of Marketing and Development, a post she has held for seven (7) years. Ms. Brown and Ms. Underwood worked closely together for the past seven years and for the past six months to ensure the transition will be as seamless as possible.

“I am excited to take on this new challenge and continue the important work that Marylou has spearheaded in recent years. TVCCA's programs are more critical to our community than ever before, and I look forward to working closely with our team to ensure that we are providing timely and compassionate services,” said Brown.
Barbara Crouch has joined TVCCA as the Senior Director, Marketing and Development. She will oversee the research and development of funding initiatives for the agency and individual programs in response to the strategic plan and emerging opportunities.
“I am excited to be a part of an organization whose mission allows me to follow my passions. I cannot wait to work with our partners and help the community recover from the pandemic and continue to thrive,” stated Crouch.
