Amity High School Star Drafted By New York Yankees

He will have an interesting choice to make this summer concerning his future.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Amity High School's Pat Winkel received the news of a lifetime when the New York Yankees drafted him in the 31st round of Wednesday's Major League Baseball Draft. Winkel is an elite defensive catcher with a strong bat, according to GameTimeCT.

There is no guarantee that Winkel will sign with the Yankees this summer because he has committed to play baseball at the University of Connecticut. He will have to make a decision on whether to sign with the Yankees or enroll at UConn this summer to play ball with his brother, Chris.

Not a bad decision to have to make.
