Amity Snares Second Spot In Final Girls Volleyball Coaches Poll

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A thrilling come-from-behind victory over Woodstock Academy in the Class L finals lifted Joel Barlow High School into the top spot of the final girls volleyball coaches poll for 2018.

The Falcons came from two sets down to upend the previously unbeaten top-seeded Centaurs last Saturday at East Haven High School. Barlow received 20 of 27 first-place votes in the balloting.

Class LL champion Amity, which knocked off perennial power Darien in the championship match, was second, collecting six first-place votes. Woodstock Academy wound up third.

Here are the top 10, with first-place votes in parentheses, plus all other programs receiving votes.
