Tinney was exiting Mapledale Road to turn left onto Derby Avenue westbound, and DeBerry was traveling eastbound on Derby Avenue when the crash occurred. DeBerry and passengers in both vehicles also were hurt in the crash, but those injuries were not considered a threat to their lives.
"The investigation is progressing but all serious/fatal motor vehicle collision investigations take quite some time to complete as they routinely involve reconstruction and toxicology reports," Martins said. "We are still looking to speak to anyone that might have witnessed the collision."
