CT TV Station Loses 2 Popular Reporters To New Opportunities
The two veteran journalists are both leaving WTNH-TV.
CONNECTICUT — It's a changing of the guard at WTNH-TV, which recently said good-bye to two of its popular reporters and anchors, Scott McDonnell and Mario Boone.
Within days of each other late last month, the two separately announced their departures from the New Haven-based station.
McDonnell is heading back to his home state to join Fox affiliate Boston 25, while Boone, who cultivated numerous news scoops, says he is temporarily withholding the announcement of his next endeavor but will let us all know at a later date.

McDonnell joined WTNH in 2016 after stints at stations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Orlando, and Kansas City.
He grew up in Upton, MA, less than an hour from his new job in Boston, and he now gets to root for his beloved Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots up close.

As for Boone, he's a North Carolina native who worked at stations in North Carolina and Florida before joining WTNH in 2017. He also is a former law enforcement officer, a position he held for five years.
