Idling Vehicle Stolen From Orange Business; Warning Issued: PD

Orange police remind residents to lock their vehicles.

ORANGE, CT — Nearly a half-dozen unlocked vehicles, some left idling and/or with keys inside, have been stolen in Orange in recent days, prompting the Orange Police Department to issue a warning to residents to lock their vehicles at all times.

In a post on the department's Facebook page, authorities said residents essentially are making it too easy for thieves.

"Unlocked vehicles being rummaged through in the residential areas are also occurring on a nightly basis, and the most effective deterrent is to lock your car doors," police said. "These individuals will continue to come to our community if they continue to be successful."
