Obituary: Edith "Edie" Catherine (Lotto) Banner, 106, of Orange

Edie, a devoted grandmother, worked as a secretary in the New Haven Superior Court Clerk's Office and Office of the Judges' Secretary.

ORANGE, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Edith "Edie" Catherine (Lotto) Banner, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Alexander Banner, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2020.

She was born in New Haven on November 1, 1914 to the late John and Angelina Paceleo Lotto.

Edie worked as a secretary in the New Haven Superior Court Clerk's Office and Office of the Judges' Secretary until retiring to care for her grandchildren, to whom she was totally devoted.

She was a member of the Holy Infant Women's Guild and was a devout Catholic.

Her caring, gentle and loving ways endeared all who met her. She was always thankful for any little thing done for her or given to her.

She cherished every moment spent with her family and wouldn't miss a single New York Yankees game while thoroughly enjoying any and every sweet treat imaginable.

Edie is the loving mother of Angela (Raymond) Brodeur, of Orange; the proud grandmother of Matthew Brodeur, Danielle (Jordan) Sullivan; and great-grandmother to Chase and Gracyn Sullivan. She is survived by one sister, Mary Franco, of Hamden.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Albert, and Andrew Lotto and three sisters, Phyllis Civitello, Amelia "Millie" DeMatteo, and Carmel "Gay" Pucillo.

She was a very special and selfless person who will be greatly missed by all. All services will be private at this time.

A memorial mass in her name will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
