Obituary: Elene “Lee” Barbara Barsczewski, 82, of Orange

Lee, loving and devoted to her family, enjoyed gardening, crafting and being a nurse.

ORANGE, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Elene “Lee” Barbara Barsczewski, 82, of Orange and formerly of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Richard H. Barsczewski, Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 27, 2021.

Lee was born in New Haven, CT on November 8, 1938, to the late William and Marion (Fritzer) Schlayer.

Lee enjoyed gardening, crafting and being a nurse. Nothing brought her more joy than taking care of others, especially her family. She will be missed by many.

Lee is survived by her children, Sharon (Ronald) Barnabei, Richard (Tracey) Barsczewski, Jr., Bruce (Deanna) Barsczewski, Wendy (Lyndon) Washington; her grandchildren, Elene Barnabei and Christopher (Leesa) Barnabei, Brittany (William) Wilcox, Maya & Cole Barsczewski, Barbara (Justin) Leonard, Kristina Barsczewski, Jordan and Tyler Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Church, 32 Jewett St., Ansonia, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby, CT.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Due to gathering restrictions, only 25 people will be allowed inside at a time.
