Obituary: John M. Parker, 92, of Orange
John proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and worked for 40 years at the Carpenter Technology Corporation.

ORANGE, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) John M. Parker, 92, of Orange, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Parker, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021. Born on March 15, 1928, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late John Edwin and Marie Parker.
John proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Fondly known as Jerry by his coworkers, friends, and family, he greatly enjoyed his 40-year career at Carpenter Technology Corporation.
After his retirement in 1985, he continued to work with both sons at John M. Parker & Son until the young age of 88. Jerry loved hot summers, and the water, and possessed a lifelong passion for boating and swimming. Most of all, he dearly loved his family, and was wholeheartedly devoted to them.

Jerry is survived by his children, Jerilynn Prokop and Robert Parker; daughter-in-law, Melissa Parker; grandchildren, Tyler Parker (Magda Kopczynski), Ginger (David) Dragan, Andrea Prokop, Katharine Prigge, and Kelli (Rhett) Knight; four great-granddaughters; six nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Jack Parker; son-in-law, Ed Prokop; and his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Michael) Magut.

A walk-through wake will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
Due to gathering size restrictions, a limited amount of people will be allowed in the building at one time, masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2911 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06518 or www.alz.org.
