Convoy of Caring Brings Food from Rocky Hill to Bloomfield

The 12th-annual event is a demonstration of partnership between the food industry and foodshare.

A convoy of 25 trucks traveled from Rocky Hill to Foodshare’s distribution center in Bloomfield as part of the 12th annual Convoy of Caring.

The convoy was part of a demonstration of how Foodshare’s partners help feed 128,000 people in Hartford and Tolland counties that often don’t know where their next meal is coming from, according to a release.

Foodshare is the region’s food bank and helps supply food to local service bodies and helps build self-sufficiency for the hungry. About 80 percent of the food distributed by the organization comes directly from the food industry.
