CT Firefighter Seriously Injured En Route To Fight Fire
A fire lieutenant on his way to the fire station was seriously injured in a car wreck.
HEBRON, CT — A Hebron fire lieutenant suffered a serious injury in a car crash Monday night. NBC CT reported that he was driving to his fire station after being dispatched to fight a fire in Lebanon.
Fire Lieutenant Eric Saunders crashed into a tree on Wall Street at around 11:20 p.m. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, Saunders was unconscious and needed extrication and advanced life support.
He was transported to Hartford Hospital and underwent surgery, according to NBC CT.
