Firefighters Rescue Person From Connecticut River In Rocky Hill
Firefighters rescued a person Tuesday evening after their car plunged into the Connecticut River.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Firefighters rescued a person from the Connecticut River Tuesday evening following a car accident. Emergency crews were called at 6:07 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that had driven into the Connecticut River.
Firefighters arrived to find the victim clinging to a pylon about 50 feet into the river in approximately 16 feet of water.
The department's zodiac boat arrived shortly thereafter and two firefighters in cold rescue suits entered the river and made their way to the victim.

The victim was removed safely and transported to the hospital.
