Guidelines for Submitting Letters to the Rocky Hill Patch Editor

Campaign season for state offices is in full swing, which usually generates a considerable amount of letters to the editor.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Primary elections for state office candidates are now behind us, which means election campaigns are now in full swing, and with that comes the inevitable letters to the editor.

Rocky Hill Patch has established some basic rules to which letter writers must adhere:

  • Patch Media welcomes letters to the editor on local and statewide topics, and reserves the right to edit letters for brevity or clarity.
  • Acceptable letters regarding political candidates will refer to the positive qualities of the candidate; letters which are considered negative toward a candidate's opponent will be edited or unpublished.
  • Please focus letters on state races, not national.
  • Email letters, including the writer's name, address and phone, to chris.dehnel@patch.com.
  • Deadline for letters is Oct. 31; letters received after that date will not be published.
