If They Can Do It ... So Can You ...

Meet 2nd Lieutenant Joe Buehler

Joe moved to Rocky Hill from New Hampshire to work as an environmental engineer. After just one month he decided to visit the fire station across from his apartment complex. He knew next to nothing about the fire service or volunteer fire fighting. Upon meeting the fire fighters at the local station Joe quickly realized how much fun and exciting it was. The best part was how everyone was so open to meeting him and helping him to understand the ins and outs of the fire service. They were willing and generous in sharing their expertise and knowledge.

Joe is currently in his 5th year as a fire fighter and says, “To be honest, I’m addicted. The job is thrilling and rewarding. On top of that, the bonds I’ve developed with my fellow fire fighters have created some of the strongest relationships I’ve ever had. I’m always striving to learn more and push myself to better serve my community and my department. This drive is born from my passion for the fire service and, I believe, has made me a better person in every aspect of my life.”

If he can do it … so can you!
