
Tree Buffs Tour,
Saturday, June 4, 10:00 am Free for All John Kehoe leads this walk featuring Cedar Hill’s rare and notable trees. The tour will highlight trees such as the beautiful European Weeping Beech, the unusual (for the Northeast) Umbrella Magnolia and the Huss Hemlock named for a resident of Cedar Hill. Meet along Cedar Hill’s entrance drive to take part in this free event. The tour is part of Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s Trails Day Weekend.

Saturday, June 18, 10:00 am, Free for All: Hunt for butterflies with Roy Zartarian & the Connecticut Butterfly Association. Cedar Hill supports a significant butterfly population, with nearly 20 species spotted here, including the elusive Hackberry Emperor. Connecticut Butterfly Association volunteers will help find and net butterflies for viewing. Appropriate hiking shoes, long pants and bug repellent are recommended.

Connecticut Wildlife Saturday, June 25, 10:00 am, Admission: $5.00; CHCF, Let’s Go Arts Members & Children 12 & under: Free: Get up close and personal with native animals while learning about the human activities that affect them. The New Children’s Museum of West Hartford will bring animals such as a turtle, chinchilla, lizard or ferret to Cedar Hill Cemetery for this educational program.
