Library Program Lets You Create Personal Time Capsule

Things to do today in Rocky Hill

1. Beneath the Surface for Teens - Make a Personal Time Capsule from 2-3 p.m. at the Cora J. Belden Library. Teen Zone

What will life today look like in 10, 20 or 30 years? Create a time capsule to save your memories! Register online. For Teens entering grade 6 and up.

2. Friends of the State Archeologist from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Long Journey Home. Albert Afraid-of-Hawk was a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe in South Dakota. He was a performer for Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show. In the year 1900, at the age of 20, Afraid-of-Hawk passed away while on tour in Danbury. Bill Cody purchased a coffin and plot at the Wooster Cemetery in  Danbury where Afraid-of-Hawk was buried in an unmarked grave. Over the years his story was forgotten until Danbury historian Robert Young came across a record of Albert Afraid-of-Hawk burial at the Wooster Cemetery. For students entering grade 5 and up.
