Local Machinist “Feels Lucky” and Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize
Robert Arsenault, Jr. Claims "Cash Extravaganza" Instant Game Prize

Rocky Hill – During a recent break from his job as an aircraft parts mechanic, Robert “Bob” Arsenault, Jr. of Newington said he was “feeling lucky.” He decided to take a walk across the street to purchase a CT Lottery “Cash Extravaganza” instant game ticket. Scratching his ticket, Arsenault revealed a winning number match for the game’s second highest prize—$10,000.
“At first I thought it was going to be a $20 winner, but the prize ended up being $10,000!” Arsenault said. “I didn’t believe it at first…I had to look back and forth at the ticket a couple times to be sure!”
Yesterday, Arsenault received a prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes) at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill and shared his intentions for his prize. “I’m going to take the money and use it to pay some bills, but I also want to take a vacation with my wife to California to visit with friends.”
For selling Arsenault his prize winning ticket, Country Package Store, located at 256 Hartford Avenue in Newington, will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
The overall chances of winning a prize in the $20 instant game Cash Extravaganza are 1 in 3.15. Of the four $100,000 top prizes in the game, 1 remains to be claimed.
