Porter And Chester Institute Promotes Philip Krebs To VP Of Operations
Krebs was previously interim campus director of Porter and Chester Institute's Watertown campus.

Porter and Chester Institute, a nationally accredited technical school providing career training since 1946, has promoted Philip J. Krebs, Ph.D., to vice president of operations.
Krebs was previously interim campus director of Porter and Chester Institute’s Watertown campus. As vice president of operations, Krebs will be responsible for managing Porter and Chester Institute’s day-to-day operations, with the objective of achieving a model of operational excellence. He will also continue to serve as a campus director but will transfer to the Westborough campus.
“Phil has demonstrated extensive leadership, operations and administration expertise at the Watertown campus,” said Jim Bologa, president and CEO of Porter and Chester Institute. “We are delighted to have him take on an expanded and more permanent role. With his experience, he is well qualified to direct Porter and Chester Institute’s operational activities.”
In his position as interim director of the Watertown campus, Krebs helped implement the institute’s strategic initiatives and worked to ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures while maintaining ethical practices and managing according to guidelines established for accreditation.
Prior to joining Porter and Chester Institute in 2012, Krebs served as vice president of academic affairs and chief operating officer of the Westchester, N.Y., campus of Berkeley College. He also served previously as regional vice president for operations for the New England region of Kaplan Higher Education Corporation, where he was responsible for operational and profitability oversight of regionally and nationally accredited colleges with approximately 8,000 students on 10 campuses.
Krebs holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a doctorate from Duke University in Durham, N.C.
