Rocky Hill Children Don't Seem To Mind The Heat
Parks are packed despite temperatures in the 90's for the second straight day.
With the temperatures soaring around town, you might think people would head for and stay in their air conditioned homes or head for a restaurant or movie theater that provided air conditioning.
Those thoughts were dispelled driving around Rocky Hill Friday.
The temperatures were still in the 90's at 6 p.m. but there were many people lounging at Ferry Park, even though the Ferry was not running.
Elm Ridge Park was filled with activity.
There were baseball games at the Little League fields, there was a large gathering at the picnic area and the playground was packed with children who couldn't care less what the temperature was.Â
"We just have to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't look like they are overheating," said a mom with two children in tow. "It's also nice that the baseball has the concession stand open. When we get too hot we can go over there and get water or Gatorade."
There were even four men playing volleyball in the park.
The young baseball players who were waiting for their game to start said they drank a lot of water but school was hot during the day.
"I just went home and relaxed after school because it was so hot," said one of the Dodgers. "It's a great day to play baseball though. But, every day is a great day to play baseball.Â
