Rocky Hill GOP Mayor Candidate Excited About Ticket's Chances
Vasel is confident he can lead Rocky Hill to better times.

Henry Vasel decided to come out early in the process and announce he would be running for Mayor in Rocky Hill.
He decided to do it for several reasons but the biggest was he wanted to put together a ticket that could break the stranglehold of the Democrats on the Town Council.
It has been eight years since the Republicans held the majority on the Town Council.
"What I was looking for when we formed this ticket of candidates was someone  who was 100 percent committed to the people of Rocky Hill," said Vasel who has been a volunteer fireman in Rocky Hill for 15 years and on the Planning & Zoning Commission for the past 10 years. "The people I have spoken to the past few months around town think we are going down a dead end street and they think this is the perfect time for a change."
Running for Town Council with Vasel will be incumbents Cathy Vargas, Nadine Bell and Frank Szeps along with newcomers Meg Casasanta and Guy Drapeau.Â
"We have people with financial experience and small business experience," Vasel said. "Our slate of Board of Education candidates has a person representing every single school in town. People should feel like they are represented and with our ticket they are."
When asked why he ran for Mayor instead of just running for Town Council, Vasel said he is confident in his success.
"Not only can I lead people but my contributions in the town show my commitment to the town of Rocky Hill," he said. "My background is that I own a small business, I have a degree in Finance From Central Connecticut. I believe I can make it better while being financially responsible. I have the energy and enthusiasm to lead us into the future. I think there is a threshold for how much people can take and I think we are there."
