Rocky Hill Hikers Come Together To Clean Up Bulkley Park

Recognition Party will be held this week for volunteers who helped clean up the Dividend Pond Trails.

Ed Chiucarello helped form the Rocky Hill Riverfront Preservation Society but he does much more.

He is dubbed "The Rocky Hill Hiker" because of his love of hiking. He does not tak that moniker for granted as he has vowed to clean trails all over Rocky Hill.

Saturday morning there was a good turnout at Bulkley Park, which was the object of Chiucarello's clean-up crew.

"My park improvement is not technically a part of the Rocky Hill Riverfront Preservation Society agenda," Chiucarello said. "It is a personal thing I've taken on with other Rocky Hill Hikers. Since we are working on the River trail they both seem to mesh."

As a result of the continued efforts of the group there will be a volunteer recognition party this week.

"This will be for all the people who helped with cleaning up Dividend Pond Trails," Chiucarello said. It's only for the volunteers so that we can recognize how much work they have done. All of the volunteers will get a Dividend Pond Trails (DPT) hat and shirt."
