Rocky Hill Man Dies In I-91 Crash

A man is dead following a single-car wreck on I-91.

ROCKY HILL, CT — I-91 south is currently closed as state police investigate a fatal crash. Radoslaw Kazmierczak, 45, of Rocky Hill, died in the crash.

Police said Kazmierczak was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon Denali near exit 28. For an unknown reason, he lost control of the car, hit a guard rail, then traveled down an embankment and rolled over.

Police said it's unclear what time the wreck occurred, but that they believe it may have happened during the overnight hours and went undetected.

Traffic on I-91 south is being diverted off of exit 27. The highway is expected to reopen around 12:45 p.m.

Troopers are asking anyone who may have been driving through the area during the early morning hours Thursday and may have witnessed the crash to contact Trooper First Class John Wilson #1060, at Troop H, at (860) 534-1098 or through email at john.wilson@ct.gov
