Rocky Hill Obituary: Andrew Sorrentino, 17

Condolences to his family and friends.

Andrew Albert Sorrentino, 17, of Rocky Hill, precious and adored son of Sebastian Paul and Lynn Theresa (Casasanta) Sorrentino, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, May 6, 2018 after a courageous two-year battle with leukemia.

Andrew was born on July 12, 2000 in Hartford. He was a student at ACES Whitney High School East in Hamden. He was very active in the Rocky Hill community, participating in Challenger Baseball, Side-Kicks Soccer and Sea Cubs Swimming.

Andrew gave a gift of love to all who knew him, especially when given the opportunity to join him in his beautiful world and youthful spirit. He loved Legos, Play-Doh, volleyball and everything Disney.

In addition to his parents, Andrew will be forever missed by his brother, Adam Sorrentino of Rocky Hill; maternal grandparents, Richard and Frances Casasanta of Newington; paternal grandparents, Antonino and Erminia Sorrentino of Wethersfield; uncle, Joe Sorrentino and wife Mary; aunts, Tina Capossela and Lisa Casasanta; cousins, Dan and Abbey Sorrentino and their son Tyler, Michelle Sorrentino, Joe and Gabriella Capossela. Andrew also leaves many extended family members and friends whose hearts he touched in such a special way.

Thank you to our most incredible CCMC family for the kindness, care and compassion shown to us and to Andrew. We are forever grateful to you. Heaven received a very special angel when our beautiful son earned his wings and we know he will be our bright light for the rest of our days on earth.

Funeral services will leave Friday (May 11) at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
