Rocky Hill Obituary: Francesca Tavana, 69

Francesca M. Tavana, 69, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Branford, following a brief illness.

Born on October 7, 1948, in Cassibile Sicily, Italy, Francesca was the daughter of the late Luciano and Rosaria (Mazza) Tavana. A hair stylist by trade, she was the former owner of Fran's Hair Salon in Windsor. A talented cook and baker, she made extraordinary pizzelle and S cookies loved by everyone.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. She was loving, kind, cheerful and always laughing. Most of all, she loved her family and the good times they shared together.

A beloved sister and aunt, Francesca is survived by her siblings, Benito Tavana and his wife, Alice of Middletown, Aurora Taddei and her husband Riccardo of South Windsor, Paul Tavana and his wife Lilia of Wethersfield, Joseph Tavana and his wife Susan of Rocky Hill, her sister-in-law Sebastiana Tavana of Italy, fifteen nieces and nephews, twenty-seven great nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Salvatore Tavana, Giuseppina Magliocco and her brother-in-law Luigi Magliocco.

In keeping with Francesca's wishes, funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, Branford, or a charity of the donor's choice.
