Rocky Hill Obituary: Raymond Kerber, 76

Condolences to his family and friends.

Raymond G. Kerber, 76, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Newington, beloved husband of Irene (St.Germain) Kerber, passed away at home, holding his wife's hand on April 2, 2018.

He was the son of the late Cyril Kerber and Mildred Kerber Visconti. Ray proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and received a Good Conduct Medal 1st Award. He later graduated with a degree in accounting. Ray worked as a revenue examiner for the Sales Audit Division of the Dept. of Revenue Services of CT before retiring. Prior to that, he worked in the home improvement industry.

He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as traveling and playing golf with his wife. He loved reading and playing cards as well. He and his wife were involved with Small Christian Communities for many years and he also enjoyed Bible Study.

Along with his wife Irene, Ray is survived by his two sons, John Kerber and his wife Beth-Ann, of New Jersey, and Paul Kerber, of Newington; his three grandchildren, Sara, Daniel and Ryan; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Fred Baker, of Manchester; his brother Robert Kerber, of Long Island; his two sisters-in-law, Muriel Roux, of Plainville and Pauline Boissonneault, of FL; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Raymond's funeral service will be held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. from the Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fisette-Batzner.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation may be made to Mosaic Foundation, 100 Sebethe Dr., Suite A3, Cromwell, CT 06416, which cares for Paul. Please write "for CT use" on your check's memo line.
