Rocky Hill Obituary: Robert McKeon, 85

Robert J. McKeon, of Rocky Hill, died April 5, 2018 at Portland Care & Rehab Center, Portland, CT.

He was born in New Haven, son of the late James F. and Katherine (Mack) McKeon and had lived in Wethersfield and Rocky Hill for over 40 years. Prior to his retirement, Bob worked for FHA (HUD) for 24 years as a mortgage analyst, he later worked as a security officer for a number of years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed music especially broadway plays and reading. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep, and Fairfield University and had attended UConn Law School.

He is survived by his cousins, Margot D. Chapman and her husband Wayne of Portland and Rosemary Parent and her husband Glenn of Rocky Hill. Robert also leaves behind cousins Maura Keyes and her husband Chet of Windsor, Brian and Vivian Mahoney of Florida and Thomas Dagata of Florida.

The funeral service will begin 10:15 AM on Tuesday, April 10, at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after at 11 AM in St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial with full military honors will be in the family plot of Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visiting hours will be from 9-10:15 AM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
