Rocky Hill Produces Champion, Placewinner at State Open Track

NEW HAVEN, CT — Rocky Hill High School produced an individual event champion and another placewinner at the State Open indoor track and field championships Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.

Elizabeth Stockman breezed to victory in the girls 3200 meter run, covering the distance in 10:45.29 to finish more than 22 seconds ahead of runnerup Meredith Bloss of Guilford. The Terriers 4 x 800 relay team of Lilah Devine, Anne White, Maren Valente and Stockman placed fourth.

Danbury edged Hall to capture the boys team championship, while Greenwich easily outdistanced Danbury to win the girls title.
