Rocky Hill Runner Repeats As State Cross Country Champion

For the second straight year, she captured the Class M meet at Wickham Park in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — For the second straight year, Elizabeth Stockman of Rocky Hill High School breezed to victory in the CIAC Class M girls cross country championships at Wickham Park.

The junior completed the 3.1 mile course in 18:45, shaving more than a minute off her winning time from 2017. She finished 52 seconds ahead of runner-up Mie Axelsson of Weston.

The Terriers placed fifth in team competition, receiving a 13th-place effort from Lilah Devine.

Ethan Arcata was a standout for the Rocky Hill boys, winding up sixth in Class M.

The top two teams and 12 individuals from each class advance to the State Open, scheduled for Nov. 2, also at Wickham Park.
