Rocky Hill Veterans' Home to Receive Funds from Memorial Day

The money was collected at the Tolland parade and service and will go towards helping the veterans who live in the state home in Rocky Hill.

During this year’s Memorial Day parade and service, volunteers with the Tolland Permanent Celebration Committee collected a record $963.32.

The money will go towards helping the veterans who live in the state home in Rocky Hill.

The amount raised on May 24 far surpasses the amount that was collected in each of the past four years in Tolland.

The funds have been sent to the VFW State Auxiliary, which will purchase socks, razors, towels, and other personal items for needy veterans in the state home.
