  • Pet & Environment Appreciation The Journey of Life: Pet & Environment Appreciation faith formation project has been a series of class inspirations designed to practice our faith learnings within our church community. During the past several months, Madison, Tim, Matt, Kayla, Rachel, Benjamin, Joshua, Elizabeth, Christopher, Matthew, Ryan, Kayseigh, Jason, Trevor, Sean and Alycia have been planning and praying for us and the following events:
You are welcome to join us: On Sunday April 19 from 12:30 to about 2:00 P.M. join the 6th and 7th grade faith formation class to plant flowers, clean the Marian Garden area and set our pet memorial stone. The memorial stone reads: God, thank you for all living creatures; especially for our deceased pets who have given us so much unconditional love. We will also be having pizza together and enjoying clips of a fun filled movie and animal/environment appreciation. This is a wonderful opportunity to join us in our passion, especially if you have no other plans.
On Wednesday April 22 from 6:00 to 6:45 P.M. join us to share in our ceremonies where students will join with you in our class prayer, music, a peace chaplet, a blessing of our pet memorial and our deceased pets. All our welcomed to bring a keepsake of a pet who has passed, which can be left at the memorial. We will end with a blessing and celebration of anyone who can bring their pets. How cool is this? Hope to see you. With love from your brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • Help to Furnish an Apartment: St Vincent DePaul Place of Middletown is once again preparing to house a person who has been chronically homeless and we at SES have committed to help. Please see the display in the foyer for details on what we’ll need. We’ll also need people to help deliver items and set up the apartment on a date still to be determined. If you’d like to be part of that effort, please contact Eileen at Eileen@sesrockyhill.org or 860-529-3222, ext14.

  • Foodshare Walk Against Hunger St. Vincent de Paul Middletown is recruiting teams to walk in the Foodshare Walk Against Hunger. This year’s walk will be held on May 3 around Bushnell Park in Hartford. Free parking is provided at the Hartford Insurance, 690 Asylum Avenue. This event is a major fundraiser for St. Vincent de Paul’s Amazing Grace Food Pantry and the Soup Kitchen. Last year 9 faith groups from the Greater Middletown area helped raise over $45,000 to help feed our hungry neighbors. We would love to have Saint Elizabeth Seton be a partner this year .For more information please contact Bob Walsh, Volunteer Walk Coordinator at bwalsh@svdmiddletown.org or by phone at 860-463-5061. Thank you for your interest.
  • Help Keep Our Haitian Promise
aca777_d008a781fd5eb827861bbd7128e8c31a.The people of Saint Elizabeth Seton are faithful partners with our sisters and brothers at St. Ann’s in Saintard, Haiti. In addition to our prayers, we support them through an annual event... Hoof it for Haiti, a 5K road race. Set for Saturday, September 19 this year, the committee’s first meeting is on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 P.M. Please come to share your gifts and connect with our twin parish.

Many hands make this a joyful opportunity to help others. Mike Stacey returns as our Honorary Chair and last year’s band, now called Wizard Farm, is recording a CD to benefit Haiti. There’s talk of an Olympic star and a local college mascot joining us so add your ideas to make this another memorable year. If you have any questions please email Jeff Cantin at jeff563@aol.com or Barbara Wysocki at wysockb@aol.com.

  • An Afternoon of Reflection in Poetry and Song With Fr. Henry Frascadore and Still Small Voice Sunday, May 3 ~ 2:00 P.M. at Saint Elizabeth Seton The Easter season is a celebration of renewal, and new life. It calls us to reflection on who we are and who we are called to be. This Easter season, nourish your renewal with An Afternoon of Reflection in Poetry and Song, with Father Henry Frascadore and Still Small Voice, on Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 P.M. here at Saint Elizabeth Seton. Father Henry has long been a writer of both short stories and prose. Since his retirement in 2008, he has produced three volumes of poetry. The third, entitled Harmony, was published in February 2015. All of Father’s works, whether about the gospels or simply about a walk in the park with his faithful black lab, Ramsey, are infused with a profound spirituality that resonates with readers and listeners. Still Small Voice is the name discerned by a group of six women for their ministry of music and song. Together, Father Henry and Still Small Voice use their talents to weave a fabric of poetry and song that offers praise and thanksgiving, healing and hope. After the presentation, Father Henry’s books will be for sale. He will gladly sign them, and offer a paw print from Ramsey as well. In addition, a CD of poetry and song will be available for a free will offering. The CD, entitled Conversations After Sunset, contains selections of poetry from Father Henry’s book of the same title, along with complementary music performed by Still Small Voice.
