Shot Fired After Car Burglary Interrupted: Rocky Hill Police
A shot was fired after a homeowner interrupted a car burglary and went to confront the suspect early Thursday morning, according to police.
ROCKY HILL, CT — A shot was fired after a homeowner interrupted a car burglary early Thursday morning in Rocky Hill, according to police.
Police received an emergency call around 12:30 a.m. reporting that shots were fired from a vehicle in the 600 block of New Britain Avenue, according to Sgt. Steve Morgan. The caller told police that the homeowner interrupted a vehicle burglary in the driveway and left the house to confront the suspect.
The suspect ran and entered a black SUV with a New York registration plate that was parked in a neighboring driveway, according to Morgan.

The homeowner told police a single gunshot was heard coming from the vehicle as it fled the area. There were no reported injuries.

“Residents are encouraged to call the Rocky Hill Police Department immediately and not confront any suspicious people on their own,” Morgan said in a news release.
