Tanker Fire Shuts Down I-91 In Rocky Hill: UPDATE

A massive tanker fire was reported Sunday morning.

UPDATE: All evacuated Lexington Estates residents are being allowed to return to their homes. The Orchard Street bridge will be closed for the immediate future while the Fire Department of Rocky Hill does their work on the aftermath of the tanker truck fire on 91, police said.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A massive tanker fire has closed parts of Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill but has also led to the evacuation of some homes, police said.

"There is a tanker fire on Interstate 91 that will be affecting parts of Rocky Hill. If you have been evacuated from your home and need shelter, there will be a warming shelter set up at Rocky High School locates at 50 Chapin Ave in Rocky Hill," police say.
