Southbury Home Appraisals Continue Throughout Town
Homeowners are reminded to ask for credentials from inspectors

Home revaluations are going on now and will continue so that data will be used for the October 1, 2017 grand list. The revaluation started in July and will take over a year to complete.
The next area to be looked at will be:
Starting December 19 - Homestead Road, Bucks Hill Road area.

The inspections will have both exterior and interior sections to them. The inspectors will measure the outside of the house to make sure it is the same as the town has for that property. If new additions have been added on that will be noted. The yard and its contour will also be looked at during the visit. A new photo of the house will also be taken.
The inside inspection will not occur unless there is a person 18 years or over home to sign the approval. The interior inspection will take between 10 and 15 minutes. Inspectors will look to count the number of rooms and also look at heating and cooling.

The collectors will be wearing bright badges that say "inspector" on them. Homeowners should not let anyone in that does not have the proper identification with them.
