Located in the heart of downtown Stamford, CT within walking distance of the city’s commercial hub and train station, Urby’s new 465-unit community entered the market late last year following successful launches in Staten Island, Jersey City and Harrison, NJ. Upon completion of a future second phase, the property will include 648 modern apartments serving Stamford. The new community celebrates hallmarks of the innovative brand, including smartly designed apartments, vast outdoor green spaces, and an entrance lobby integrated with an all-day cafe that effectively creates community between the residents and the surrounding neighborhood.

Creating Spacious Community Spaces for Ex-New Yorkers
The fresh approach to the resident experience resonated with renters, leading to a momentum build that has continued through the COVID-19 pandemic as more and more people prioritize open space and look to reside outside of New York City while still enjoying convenient access to Manhattan.

“I have a more affordable and better quality of life in Stamford than I did quarantining in my Brooklyn apartment for a month and a half. I shopped almost all the apartment buildings in the area, but chose Urby for ticking all the items on my list: proximity to the train and ease of getting into the city when needed, outdoor spaces like the pool and grills, modern apartments with nice finishes, and lots of natural light.”

Modern Apartments with A Growing Community
Conveniently situated on the corner of Greyrock Place and Tresser Boulevard, Stamford Urby offers a collection of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments featuring bright and airy floorplans with huge, ceiling-high windows looking out onto a lush garden of bamboo.
Designed by the Amsterdam-based architecture and interiors firm Concrete, Stamford Urby is comprised of 11 buildings of varying heights laid out in a square. The entrance lobby is home to Roost, a Darien-based local favorite led by award-winning Chef Mike Pietrafeso (Ada’s Kitchen & Coffee in Greenwich and Roost Darien). Open to the public with parking available, the cafe features a seasonal menu of coffee, light fare and cocktails and is open and currently offering social distanced indoor seating.

“Stamford Urby illustrates the brand’s commitment to human-scale design, neighborly values, and a positive outlook on the future,” said David Barry, CEO of Urby, which is partnering with Brookfield Property Group on numerous Urby developments. “We’re excited to see our growing Stamford community, and look forward to introducing our concept of thoughtful apartment living to new residents.”

Stamford Urby’s vast outdoor green spaces offer a haven of calm amid the hustle of downtown. Designed by Brussels-based architecture and landscape architecture firm, Bureau Bas Smets, the heavily landscaped property features bamboo-lined winding paths and leafy gardens, creating the feeling of an urban oasis. Highlighting the central courtyard is an elevated saltwater pool and patio, and numerous BBQ grills and firepits. Residents also have access to a communal kitchen, an enormous fitness facility with Life Fitness and Peloton equipment and a Woofgarden dog park for resident canines.

Urby’s seamless integration of technology allows residents to enjoy smartphone building and apartment entry, video intercom for guests, Amazon Hub package lockers, WiFi in all common areas, filtered water station, and a web-based portal for maintenance requests and rent payment. An enclosed parking garage offers electric car charging stations and bicycle storage.

The apartments offer style and functionality with clever, space-saving designs like built-in shelving, closet drawers and shelving, and pocket doors. Kitchens boast modern appliances with integrated Blomberg stove and cook top and concealed dishwashers. GE washer/dryers and individual heating/cooling systems are included in each apartment. Monthly rents currently range from $1780 for studios, $2295 for one-bedroom layouts and $2905 for two-bedroom floor plans. Immediate occupancy is available.

To enhance safety procedures amid COVID-19 concerns, Stamford Urby has implemented virtual, self-guided and in-person tour options of model homes and amenity spaces.
