"We're very concerned about his status," said Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department of the victim. "If that does change for the worse, these charges can and will be upgraded."
It was initially thought that Osemobor may have falsely believed that the victim had accosted a female who was located further up the street at the time, but it was determined that the victim had no apparent altercation with anyone.
Investigating officers determined the identity of the suspect to be Osemobor through the surveillance footage. While responding to a disturbance call at a motel on the West Side of Stamford on Sunday afternoon, Patrol Division Officers came across Osemobor and took him into custody.
Osemobor was carrying a boxcutter at the time of his arrest, so he was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. He was also charged with interfering with the police, as he tried to give officers a false name. The charges carry an additional $25,000 bond.
