STAMFORD, CT — Welcome to 2020 where everything is different as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and that includes pumpkin patches.

Thankfully, the coronavirus has only changed — not completely closed — your favorite pumpkin patch and its offerings this fall.

Below is a list of some of our favorite pumpkin patches near Stamford:

  • Eden Farms Nursery & Garden Center, 947 Stillwater Road, Stamford. Open daily, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. "Please stop by and visit our extensive inventory of annual plants, perennials, shrubs, shade and evergreen trees, fertilizers, grass seed and mulches. Don't miss our farm stand in the summer and pumpkin patch and hayrides in the fall!"
  • Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses LLC, 437 North Street Greenwich. Open Monday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. "The Pumpkin Patch is available on a first come, first serve basis. If the patch is at capacity it will be closed until those customers are finished shopping. You may have to wait."
  • Outhouse Orchards, 139 Hardscrabble Road, North Salem, NY. Open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting the farm on weekends and/or holidays requires a reservation due to COVID-19 protocols. "If you came for pumpkins then you came to the right place. There is a wide selection of pumpkins, gourds and Halloween decorations that will get you in the fall spirit as soon as you lay eyes on our pumpkin patch (all pumpkins are vine free). Pick your favorite pumpkin and the friendly staff will weigh for you at the check out tent."
  • Jones Family Farms, 120 Beardsley Road, Shelton. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays with reservation, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends with reservation. "Fall is a festive time where we celebrate the harvest season at our beautiful Pumpkinseed Hill Farm. Bright orange pumpkins lie nestled amongst hay and green vines, ready to be harvested and carried home. Our market yard features farm animals, hayrides, corn maze, fall flowers, fresh apples and piles of autumn squash. Our special UNICEF Family Festival during the last weekend before Halloween features games and children's activities all benefiting a worthy cause. Come enjoy classic New England scenery and beautiful fall foliage at Jones Family Farms this October."
  • Silverman's Farm, 451 Sport Hill Road, Easton. Open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. "Residents from the tri-state area have been coming to the farm for many years to win a free pumpkin! Before purchase, every customer may guess the weight of each pumpkin before being brought to the scale. If the guess is within 2 oz. either way, the pumpkin is free regardless of size. We give away thousands of free pumpkins each year!"
  • Blue Jay Orchards, 125 Plumtrees Road, Bethel. Open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday; Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pick-your-own ends at 4:30 p.m.
  • Warrup's Farm, 11 John Read Road, Redding. "Join us weekends in October for pick-your-own pumpkins as we celebrate the harvest. Visit facebook for the latest updates."
  • Plasko's Farm, 670 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull. Open Monday-Friday, noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. "Fall is one of our favorite seasons! Whether you are looking for a pumpkin to carve, decorate, or eat, you will find what you are looking for at Plasko's. The farm also fully stocks a variety of squash, gourds, Indian corn, corn stalks and many more fall decorative accessories."
  • Castle Hill Farm, 25 Sugar Lane, Newtown. Maze & pumpkin picking starts Sept. 26: "As things will run by reservation only this year, which is a change for us all, please be patient as we finalize all details.
