The sports bar said the decision was made in the interest of the health and well-being of customers, staff and the community.

STAMFORD, CT — Prior to Gov. Ned Lamont's announcement Monday that all restaurants across the state will be open strictly for take out "until further notice," popular sports bar Bobby V's in Stamford revealed over the weekend it will temporarily close, beginning Monday at 5 p.m. The announcement comes as the state, and the nation, grapples with the new coronavirus.

In an announcement Sunday, the sports bar's parent company, Sportech Venues, Inc., announced all Bobby V's venues, as well as Winners betting shops, in Connecticut will close through the end of March. The announcement also noted the closure "may be extended by local guidance."

Sportech said the company was not aware of any employees or guests having tested positive for the virus, also referred to as the COVID-19 virus, however the decision was made "in the interests of the health and well-being" of customers, staff and the communities the venues are located within.
