Dozens Of Vehicles Towed During Stamford Snow Storm: Report

Stamford tow truck operators hit the jackpot with Thursday's snow storm.

STAMFORD, CT — More than 60 vehicles were towed during Thursday's snow storm because they were illegally parked along Stamford's snow emergency routes, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Fliers were placed on vehicles warning they could be subject to getting towed, and the city provided free parking at Stamford garages to avoid the hassle and expense.

Cost to the motorists whose vehicles were towed? A whopping $320 ($120 for the ticket, $200 for the tow). Vehicles were towed from several streets, including Hoyt Street, Summer Street, Seaside Avenue, Stillwater Avenue, Lockwood Avenue and Fairfield Avenue, according to the publication.
