THe Loft Artists Association presents "Last Open Studios at 845 Canal Street

Stamford, CT – April 11, 2013 – Please come and support an OPEN STUDIOS EVENT for the Loft Artists Association that is being asked to leave its beloved home at 845 Canal Street by the developer BLT. Forced to have OPEN STUDIOS earlier this year, we invite you to come and celebrate with us 35 years in the South End as we make plans to find a new home somewhere else in Stamford. There will be plenty of art to look at and take home with you, food to eat, and time for good conversation. We look forward to seeing many of our friends as well as plenty of new faces to help encourage us to start a new beginning.

”We’ve been opening our doors for over 35 years and are still thrilled and look forward to sharing our work and lives with the community.” Says LAA president, Lisa Cuscuna. “This is the largest cooperative of working professional artists in the area, so if you’ve never attended Open Studios please stop by and meet us….we all love to talk about our work.”

The Loft Artists pioneered the South End of Stamford setting up an artist colony in the old Yale & Towne Factory that now boasts state of the art apartments.  They produced happenings, performances, tours and lectures that attracted thousands of people from the tri state area.  They taught workshops, gave demonstrations and opened their doors inviting the community to see the creative process first hand…. and now, 35 years later, although the future is uncertain,  they continue their great outreach tradition and invite you to what has become known as Stamford’s greatest art experience,  “OPEN STUDIOS 2013”.
