Fall Fun, Art Exposure and the Celebration of Diversity in Stamford

Hey Stamford, Friday arrives with a sunny 67 degrees, but clouds move in Saturday and temperatures drop to 66. On Sunday, it's mostly sunny, but temperatures keep dropping to 61, according to weather.com  Check these tide charts for your daily high and low tides.

Oktoberfest comes to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center on Friday starting at 6:30 p.m. "Enjoy seasonal Oktoberfest brews, dine on Oktoberfest favorites from Old Heidelberg, and enjoy live music from The Bavarian Boys. Ticket info can be found here. 

On Saturday, Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia hosts the first-ever Children's Parade at Cove Island Park to celebrate cultural diversity. Everything gets started at 12:30 p.m., and there will be tons of fun for children grades kindergarten through 5th grade. 

In Greenwich, Family Art Appreciation Day comes to the Bruce Museum. A program designed for families and children to foster appreciation and understanding of art related to current Bruce Museum exhibitions and based on the Learning to Look® curriculum developed by Diane W. Darst and Sue Ann Massey Williamson. On Sunday, the program will focus on the Bruce Museum exhibition Closer: The Graphic Art of Chuck Close. The lessons will be led by a Learning to Look Instructor beginning at 1:15 pm, repeated at 2:15 pm, and will focus on portraiture. There will be printmaking activities in the Education Workshop. All activities are free with museum admission.
