Flash Flood Warning Issued for Fairfield County

The warning was just issued by the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Fairfield County, which is in effect from now until 2:15 p.m.

"At 1118 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots."

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, and Danbury.

"A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property."

Eversource is reporting 730 outages including 130 in Greenwich as of 11:30 a.m.
