Police said a 2021 Toyota pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Wildwood Road and struck the rear of the van, pinning the victim between the van and pick-up truck. The pick-up truck operator said that he did not see the van prior to impact, according to Booth.

The vehicles were lodged together due to the impact and could not be separated on their own. According to Booth, prior to emergency personnel arriving, an unknown truck stopped and used heavy duty straps to pull the Toyota away from the van, freeing the victim.
