Mike's Organic Now Offering Prepared Foods
The Stamford-based business has expanded with the addition of prepared foods, available for purchase in-person, or delivery.

STAMFORD, CT — Mike's Organic, which is based in Stamford and is the premier farm-to-home delivery service in Connecticut, recently announced the debut of "Made By Mike's" — a new line of prepared foods.
Owner Mike Geller, a Greenwich resident, said he's always wanted to offer prepared foods, but the timing never lined up until now.
"I couldn't be more excited about it," he said. "This is something we've wanted to do for several years. This has really coincided with a lot of growth in the business over the last year, and then with people kind of wanting to have easier-to-eat foods that are also healthy and nutritious."

"The ingredients for all the prepared foods that we're creating are from the small farms, the small artisans and providers and producers we work with, made by us in a commercial kitchen," Geller said, noting that all packaging is compostable.
Mike's Organic has a retail location and warehouse in Stamford at 377 Fairfield Ave. right off exit 6 near Old Greenwich. Delivery service is available throughout Fairfield County, from Greenwich up through Bridgeport.
Delivery is also available in Westchester County from the Rye, Harison and Larchmont areas down to New Rochelle and over to the river towns like Tarrytown, Irvington and Dobbs Ferry.
What sets Mike's Organic products apart, Geller said, aside from the fresh, local high-quality ingredients that are used, is connection and transparency, two words that are vital to the business.
"A connection to the person that grew your food, and then transparency in terms of what's on it, what's in it, when was it picked, what was the chicken eating. We have access to all that information. We can tell the story of the farmer unlike pretty much anyone in this area can, because of our closeness with farmers," Geller said.
That closeness with local farmers and artisans was certainly important over the past year during the pandemic.
"I had 30 different farmers tell me last year they would've lost their farm without Mike's Organic. During the pandemic we found ourselves in this very unusual position of not only keeping small local farms in business, but also being a lifeline to our customers who couldn't get food delivered," Geller said, noting that when it took people weeks to order from Amazon or Fresh Direct, Mike's Organic was delivering within five days.
"The whole point of the business has always been to be a bridge between small farms and consumers. The importance of that was never more evident than over the last year," Geller added.
