Mindfulness Sessions To Help Non-Profit Workers, First Responders
The sessions are being offered by Community Mindful Project free of charge every Wednesday via Zoom.
STAMFORD, CT — Community Mindfulness Project (CMP) will offer weekly "Mini Mindfulness Burnout Busters" for non-profit workers and first responders free of charge every Wednesday at 9 a.m. The program began June 23.
According to a news release, the short, 15 minute sessions provide mindfulness and meditation opportunities to specifically to help combat mental and emotional stress, as they're all based on neuroscience. They can be accessed easily by phone or zoom.
"These sessions came out of an alliance between Community Mindfulness Project and Building One Community, together recognizing the common thread of burnout that exists amongst nonprofit workers," said Erika Long, co-founder of CMP, in a news release. "Mindfulness practices have been shown to help prevent burnout and support resilience."

CMP began working with Building One Community in the spring of 2020 to help their staff combat trauma and burnout and support a culture of self-care within the organization. The staff was interested in keeping the sessions going, so CMP and Building One Community opened up the sessions to any non-profit or frontline workers who wanted to join.
CMP is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, formed in 2014, with a mission to offer a variety of mindfulness and meditation practices to help people support their well-being. Building One Community is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families.

"CMP’s skillful trainings have provided Bulding One Community's staff with effective tools for dealing with stress, connecting with the compassion that is at the heart of our work, and strengthening our equanimity. We are so excited that CMP will be opening these sessions to our colleagues at other organizations," said Building One Community Executive Director Anka Badurina in a news release.
CMP offers mindfulness and meditation programs to schools, hospitals, and community organizations to help support their communities’ physical, psychological, emotional, and social well-being. Additional programming is available free of charge and open to the public, both online and in-person in outdoor locations.
